Audio on Demand

Podcasts from the National Museum of Australia,

The National Museum of Australia asked us to help them rebuild their Audio on Demand website, an evolving collection of lectures, forums and symposiums held at the NMA. So we did.

Built in Symphony, the site has dramatically improved the Museum’s workflow by organising their RSS and podcasting needs, their MP3 content (including ID3 data) and text transcripts in a single application. The new front-end experience includes a inline mp3 player, and much improved navigation and exploratory paths.

There are already over 220 programs and 3 gigabytes available for download or live listening. Go and listen to audio from scholars, story-tellers and curators on almost any subject; archaeology, architecture, history, evolution, exploration, migration, politics, war, sport and more.

The Audio on Demand project won the 2010 Best of the Web award in the Podcast category at the Museums and the Web international conference. It also won gold in the same category at the American Association of Museums MUSE Awards.
