Water scarcity is a reality of today’s Australia, and the Bureau of Meteorology has released an iPhone app to help you keep tabs on the storage levels in the public dams, weirs, and pondages that litter our dry country. The Water Storage app shows you the levels of Australia’s storages and lets you compare them to the previous calendar year. Turn the iPhone on its side and you have a full-screen interactive graph for detailed interrogation of the storage history.

The Bureau brought Icelab on board to create the Water Storage user interface. We helped them envisage the application’s overall flow, then designed the interface and application icons. We even got our hands dirty with the Objective C and Cocoa Touch code to take care of implementing our interface enhancements. Is this the slickest iPhone app to come out of Australian Government?
