It’s time for something new

After 14 years we’re hanging up our keyboards. Our team is joining the lovely people at Culture Amp, where we’ll be helping build a better world of work.

Decaf Sucks

We hate bad coffee. We hate the way it tastes, the way it smells, and most of all we hate forking over hard earned cash for a poorly made espresso. Decaf Sucks is about helping each other to find the good cafés and avoid the bad ones.

We initially built Decaf Sucks in just 48 hours for the 2009 Rails Rumble. We developed it around a simple premise: connecting geolocation with simple, easy to write café reviews. Since then, we’ve spent a lot of time extending and nurturing the app to make it one of the web’s best coffee-focused sites.

We’ve also made a great experience for mobile devices. We’ve developed a native iOS application, as well as a mobile-optimised web application that can still take advantage of a smartphone’s location services.

We’ve taken the time to share our experiences building Decaf Sucks: please head over to the blog to read more.

In its first couple of years, we’ve helped contribute to nearly 2000 reviews for cafés worldwide. We’re hoping that you can help us make Decaf sucks a useful tool for finding the perfect espresso wherever you are.
