It’s time for something new

After 14 years we’re hanging up our keyboards. Our team is joining the lovely people at Culture Amp, where we’ll be helping build a better world of work.

Icelab gets inventive, quadruples Melbourne team

By Michael Honey13 Mar 2012

We’ve been pals with Melbourne’s Inventive Labs for a while now: we’re both small teams with a history of building well-designed, well-crafted websites for clients in the creative and cultural sectors. Icelab design lead Max has been working out of the Inventive offices for the last six months or so, and they’re great people.

They’ve also had a pretty significant side project happening for a couple of years now: Booki.sh, their ebook platform. Well, Booki.sh and Inventive founders Virginia Murdoch and Joseph Pearson were recently acquired by OverDrive. They’ll be working on Booki.sh full-time, and they wanted to do the right thing by their staff and their clients and not leave them hanging. Which is why we were delighted and honoured when they proposed that Icelab might be able to (a) snap up their awesome talent, (b) work with some exciting Melbourne clients, and © snag their office in Brunswick Street.

One of the hardest things to do as a growing company is find good people with a complementary mix of skills and personality. So we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that as of 1 April 2012, Icelab will be adding Narinda Reeders, Toby Allder and Ally Long to our Melbourne team. In addition to our ongoing self-directed and client projects, the bigger, better Icelab will continue to manage Inventive’s portfolio of sites, including development of the Blueprint CMS, and work with Inventive’s current clients on exciting new ventures.

This is an exciting time for us all. Looking forward to it.

PS: Here’s Inventive’s take on the story. Love you guys!
