Australian Literary Studies Journal
Academic journals and the world of publishing are undergoing significant change. Australian Literary Studies is no exception to that, and came to us looking for a way to continue their history of independent publishing in the digital age.
This was no small task for a publication with a back-catalogue of titles representing fifty years of thinking and writing about Australian literature.
We took this as a challenge, and built an entirely new publishing platform that carefully balances ALS’s responsibilities as producer, curator and caretaker of literary scholarship.
New issues of the journal are now published regularly and available for free for four weeks. ALS now offers affordable subscriptions which give access to the archive stretching back to 1963. The archive contains over 1500 articles with original PDFs and is fully text searchable.
